The Ulgath (Ul.Great People) or Talathoth (N.Plains-People) were a group of Easterling tribes in the early Second Age.They were the ancestors of many of the peoples of Rhûn including the Brygath, Gathmarig, Kugath, Logath,Sagath and Wágath.

    • Asrabi (who stayed behind and served the First Temple)
      • Talataerim (Who spread throughout the Steppe after the Battle of Palisor)

            • Northern Ulgath or Nardhrim (late First - early Second Age)
            • Southern Ulgath (late First-early Second Age)
              • Urgath (Second Age, remained independent from the Szreldorn Dominion)
                • Guvar (Early Third Age)
                  • Brygath (mid-Third Age, descendants of the Guvar-nomads)
                  • Gathmarig (mid-Third Age, sedentary descendants of the Guvar)
                    • Igath (later Third Age, formed by the Kings of Mistrand out of the Gathmarig and Brygath-vassals)
                      • Wainriders (Confederation of Igath and subjugated descendants of the Sagath and Logath, their remnants were later absorbed by the Balchoth)
                        • Narimanush (late third Age ,descendants of the tribes of southern Rhûn who had been part of the Balchoth-empire)
                        • Rostamush (late third Age, descendants of the original Balchoth of eastern Rhovanion and subjugated remnants of the Wainriders)
                          • Jangovar (late third Age descendants of the Rostamush and wild nomad tribes of northern Rhun such as the Hunkarim)
                  • "Southern Sagath" (Guvar clans that were dominated by the Hôs-clan, merged with the Brygath and later became part of the Wainriders)
            • Haid (late Second Age, eastern kinsmen or remnants of the Ulgath)
              • Lothrag (early Third Age)

                  • Bozorganush (late Third Age, descendants of the eastern part of the Balchoth-empire)
                    • Khundolar (late third Age, descendants of Bozorganush and subjugated tribes from northern Rhun such as the Hunkarim)
                  • Rahiwenna (late Third Age, free tribes not subjugated or rebellious against the Golden Army)
