Sirros Ford and Thingastathbaurg

Thingastathbaurg (Rh."Assembly-Place Fort") was a village of the Woodmen in the Upper Anduin Vales. It's population counted about 150.

The original Name given in the MERP Publications, "Burh Thingstat" seems to have been derived from early anglo saxon burhs (fortress) and thegn (thane) or thing. The proper old frankish form would have been Deganstatburg or Burg Dingstat, Thingastathbaurg is a logical meso-gothic form that would reflect the old rhovanian Name of the place as it would have been known about TA 1640.
