The Eastlands on a Globe
Eastlands refers to the vast unknown lands of eastern Middle-earth from the Sea of Rhûn and the lands of the lands of the Farthest East between the mighty peaks of the Orocarni and the Eastern Ocean. The Eastlands were also known as Rómen (Q."East") or Rhûn (S."East") although the latter term came to designate Gondor's eastern province, the lands surrounding the Rhûnaer in the closer sense. The lands of central Middle-Earth were also known as Palisor and the utter east as Amrûn (S."Lands of the Sunrise").
