The River-toad was a family of large toads common throughout Eriador, in northeastern Eriador the Red and Green subtypes prevailed while the valleys of the Ered Luin were home to an especially large reddish-brown kind.The Burrowing River toad was a small brownish variant at home only to the toad-marshes of Buckland and northwestern Cardolan.
