Agar (Dn. "Wooded region"?) was a town within the Hills of Agar in Second Age Gondor. It was inhabited by the Sakalai until the arrival of the Númenóreans, who settled it.

- Agar appeared only briefly in J.R.R. Tolkien's unfinished short story "Tal-Elmar". The story does not specify its exact location as he himself was unsure of it; an estuary of either the Isen or the Morthand; or between the Langstrand and the Ethir Anduin were among his considerations.
